Imitate Me
1 Corinthians 11:1
Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.
When was the last time you told someone to imitate you? Is this something you're even willing to say? These are some heavy words that not many people are willing to say. Mostly, because a life worth imitating is hard to come by these days.
As hard as these words may be to say, I’m encouraged by Paul’s next words. He tells the Corinthian people to imitate him, “just as I also imitate Christ.” Paul was not perfect, nor did he ever claim to be perfect. He claimed quite the opposite in fact, telling Timothy that he was the worst sinner. So why are his words so encouraging? Because if I am following Christ it means that I am naturally imitating Him as well.
One cannot spend time with Jesus and not be changed by Him. The more I imitate Him the more I become like Him. Then the more I ask others to imitate me as I imitate Christ the more they become like Him. This is true discipleship! Pouring into others what has been poured into you.
How well have you been imitating Christ? If you’ve not been doing a good job of it or not been doing it at all, now is the best time to start. The more you and I imitate Christ the more He will change our lives. We are called to make disciples who make disciples of Jesus and we cannot do that if we are not willing to imitate Him. I encourage you to spend time imitating Christ more and more each day in order to fulfill your purpose for Him, and see what He does in your life and in the lives of those around you.

Don't stop 🛑 doing these blogs! Announce them in church! They're ðŸ‘! I just found them here!
I just reread this blog and my answers from 2 years ago. My husband died, and now I regret not serving him with a better attitude at times. I regret I wasn't stronger in Christ.
